That graphic is awesome. I should use that in a business meeting the next time someone asks me to explain the difference between a filter (guy on left) and a diffuser (guy on right).

And...we remain 4 - 6 weeks away from ending this if we choose. My only hope is for a regime change which might drive this from the top down. No doubt that 4 - 6 weeks of a 90% nationwide lockdown would have had less economic impact than what we did...which was 4 weeks of 50% lockdown, followed by a long drawn out mishmash of state/local reopenings.

This whole pandemic situation is pretty annoying but it's here. I don't really mind wearing a mask. It's just kind of sad that this is how we have to live right now. Maybe people think there is less risk when outdoors which I do believe there is but not if you're sitting that close to people!
I totally agree. I don't *like* wearing a mask or the restrictions of social distancing. But I understand how they work and why they're necessary, so I comply, and I don't lose any sleep over it. I don't understand the denials that they work, and all the drama, the histrionics and in extreme cases, the violence over wearing them. This is literally a matter of life and death, and your choice can not only save your own life, it can save the lives of others. Conversely, your choice not to comply endangers not only your own life, it endangers all of those around you - it's like saying "Hey, it's my business if I want to drive drunk, so leave me alone!" It's not really a close call, if you give it even a few minutes of thoughtful consideration.

I don't see it happening no matter who is in office. Red, Blue, Purple....

In March, people were taken aback by how quickly things progressed. They complied because nobody knew what as about to happen. (remember toilet paper shortages) Now after months of this, people aren't going to want to go back to the way things were after the last 8 month of dealing with this. A new administration can come in and say "Masks for all, 100% of the time" and you'll still get a large number of the population claiming "This is how Nazi Germany started!"

Yup. Gets an entire wing at a hospital with a support staff of top doctors in the country who's only job is to monitor his health, and proclaims it no big deal after getting every damn drug under the sky thrown his way within hours of a diagnosis. Tell that to some poor elderly person currently struggling to breath at home because they can't get that level of support.

LOL, so all you need is an army of top doctors watching you around the clock and VIP access an array to experimental treatments within hours, and you'll feel "better than you did 20 years ago!" Of course, no one else can get those things, but step right up, ladies and gentlemen, who wants to go next??? Covid-19 is a cakewalk! I don't know why 210,000 Americans have died.

Irresponsible doesn't begin to describe it. I thought it was a spoof at first.

At some point (maybe that's already passed), doesn't he become culpable for negligent homicide?

They should begin selling Covid-19 infected Kool-Aid at all Trump events, since it's going to make you feel better than you did 20 years ago. What an opportunity, and just $500 for a cupful! Step right up, ladies and gentlemen, who wants to go next?? Covid-19 infection is Trump-recommended, Trump-approved! Just $500 cash and get your drink from Trump's Miracle Fountain of Youth! No pushing, no shoving please - there's enough for everyone!

I don't think we need to go into a full lockdown. Masks & distancing with a really stiff fine for non-compliance should be enough to get the transmission rate well below 1.0. That exposed nose? $1,000 for the first incident. Goes up from there.

PPE is also a national disgrace. This was a known problem in February. It's October. We should have N95 mask factories churning out millions of masks by now.

Why should he care? He has a physician monitoring him 24x7 and elaborate medical equipment in his house. If he gets worse, they spool up Marine 1 and he's back in the hospital in 10 minutes.

It's just like the coverage for an ACA plan, right?
