unfortunately a mask doesn't work the same way as a condom would. Ok I'll stop.

I could be wrong, but I don't think most 20-somethings (who are actively dating) are worrying or caring about testing.

And I'm not sure why some people want to take college kids out of this discussion. In my experience, there's far more partying and hookups among college kids than with your typical 20-somethings. The behavior is also more irresponsible.

And why aren't high school kids included in this discussion?

I'm going to guess that a lot of people, for personal reasons, seem to need schools (and colleges) to remain open. It's really not an honest discussion for that reason.

I would include college-age kids in with the 20-somethings. Toss in a few "year off" students or some 5-yr program students and college can typically cover most of the early 20's range pretty easily.

Im sure high school kids are contributing to this. Heck I've heard of middle schools kids having sleepovers recently. My kids have a neighbor they play with but only outside. Some parents are continuing indoor playdates as usual. It's hard...I try not to judge too much but a sleepover seems a bit much.

I wouldn't get too hung up on pointing fingers too much at any one particular group. RIght now, I think everyone has gotten fatigued from the events of 2020 and have somewhat gone back to old behaviors. I'm not innocent myself.

If it helps you sleep at night to blame at least part of this on kids go ahead, but why does it matter if others share in that belief?

Kids today with their hookups and partying! No typical 20-something would do such immature things. Are you trying to sound like a bitter old church lady?

There’s a difference between trying to completely remove them from the conversation here (which I haven’t seen) and vilifying them, or the parents attached to them who clearly just want to be rid of their kids at your expense, probably so they can spend their days partying and hooking up like kids.

At any rate, I’m pretty sure Charlie Baker isn’t going to change course because he read some city-data posts admonishing him to get tough on school kids.

Given the number of higher risk 'boomers' happily dining indoors in Worcester county, I think the blame can spread around. I've been fairly impressed by the persistent vigilance of the 25-45 and 65+ cohorts, though the latter group has a more tangible motivator in terms of risk.
