It is indeed a problem when one side wants to turn us into a real-life Handmaid’s Tail while the other side wants nothing less than a grotesque amalgamation of USSR and Mugabe’s Zimbabwe. And it’s an even bigger problem when one side blames the other for everything without ever admitting its own faults.

Nobody ever does that.

Both sides have glaring faults! Too bad that one side can “win” elections without the popular vote then institute equally unpopular and backwards policies. The other extreme stands for a bit too much unbearable woke-ness and PC virtue signaling but at least they want to use tax revenue to sorta kinda (yet still far less than nearly all 1st-world countries) help average citizens - aka gasp “SOCIALISM- Wahhh we’ll be like the Soviets!”. Anyways back to the topic, MA is better than OK for someone looking for a LGBTQIA-friendly living environment who doesn’t want to deal with the ignorant and dangerous imbeciles rampant in “real America” and poised to hijack all three branches of the federal government right soon.

Socialism cosplay alone would have been a lot easier to swallow if it wasn’t inseparably intertwined with such fine folks as “some people did something” Omar, real estate empire-building police-abolishing Khan-Cullors and our very own MCG. The left, just like the right, made their bed, now they need to go sleep in it.

I hate to be so pessimistic, but it is hard to see things otherwise right now. In fact, it's so bad that me moving to a blue state might not be able to protect my rights. The Republicans have promised a nation wide ban on abortion after they return to power.

As you say, there's nothing to stop them.

However, where we're standing today, blue states have rights, red states don't. No matter what happens, the latter remains true, worst case scenario the former is true, as well. But the latter is true, and it won't be changing anytime soon. I need to get to a blue state ASAP.

I don't even want to think about how bad the US is going to get. Perhaps I should go to Buffalo so at least I know I could make a run for the Canadian border if the US goes full Gilead.

Even if redneckistan does go full jesustard and ban abortion outright it would be much cheaper for you to hop on a train or a plane to the nearest open planned parenthood than to move to one of the most expensive states in the US with no degree and no job lined up. Unless, of course, you’re planning to do it every week but that’s a whole different story…

Do you you realize that Republicans are sneaking in provisions into their anti-abortion bills (and bills for other things, like trans kids' rights, too) that criminalize people leaving the state to get them?

Do you really think they will establish an aborstapo that will follow every single person getting on a bus, train or plane? This is just fear-mongering by the left, no different from everyone from the Middle East is Osama bin Laden fear-mongering by the right and you’ve fallen for it hook, line and sinker.

First, I think you need to get a really good marketable skill. Maybe get a two year degree from a community college and how about a degree in the health care field? They never can seem to get enough lab techs or anything else I can think of that falls under the field of health care. With a good skill you would have a much better chance of getting a job and more choices of places to live.

BTW, you can't just move to Canada. Lots of people have tried because of the way this country is now, but Canada doesn't let them in. They need very high job skills in an area that Canada needs workers. It costs money to immigrate to another country too. Anyway, I don't think of upstate NY as being blue but I could be wrong.

I'd say get a job skill first.
