After living in NH for the past 14 years, we plan on moving back to Mass, probably to the Reading area. We have private septic in NH, so we're wondering what it'll cost us for town water and sewer. Our household includes 2 adults and 4 kids. I realize that cost will depend on our actual use, but I'd appreciate any ballpark estimates or what it costs others with similar household sizes.

Thanks!

I'd say a $100 a month for both water and sewer, depending on what you do i.e. water your lawn, have a HE washer, all of you taking daily showers or just weekly :-) and so on.

It vary greatly between towns based on their existing infrastructure, planned upgrades, etc. Down here in Scituate we have town water for only like $50/quarter. Private septic tank that sellers needed to upgrade for $20k before they could sell to meet Title V requirements.
