We just arrived back from our long awaited trip back up to beautiful MA!!!! We had the most amazing time once again!!!! Those of you who get to call this place home are so lucky to have this picturesque of beauty. We had a wonderful time on the Cape and in Plymouth and are already planning for our next trip back!!!! Also every one was so friendly once again (OK so one old man gave us the finger at a stop sign but back here at home that is an everyday occurance while driving!!!) We finally learned that with the way the roads are if it looks like you can pull out and go you do I posted some pics from our trip and one looking out of my front door. Once again you guys are on the top of my list of the most treasured little gems in America!!!!

This has been my summer scenery for 28 years

After all those years of living in apparent desolation, why can't you move to the place you love the most? And please don't tell me because your whole family lives there. My whole family lives in Calif. and we left. Many benefits to doing that.

Sadly yes my whole family does live hear but the funny thing is i would leave them in a heart beat!!! We are trying to get our ducks in a row and figure out how we can actually move up there. If it was up to me i would pack everything i own transfer my money and head on up (i am more of a take chances and see what happens kind of person) but my husband he likes things to be in order and not to risky!!! He has been in the tile marble and granite business for about 12 years so i am not sure how much of that type of work is up there and if it would be easy to find a job there. Me I run our families construction company although my dream is to have a restaraunt in MA. I love to cook, bake and decorate cakes. So in the meantime i drive my husband crazy by googling homes, areas, etc.

Granite is mined (removed from the ground) in MA and NH. I was surprised at how much granite there is here, even the curbs (at least in the suburbs) are granite.

Well, NH's nickname is "The Granite State".

Wow sounds like i need to get the hubby to look into any openings We did notice how the curbs were granite both times we visited. He kept joking me the whole time how if we lived here how much business i would give the auto shops, i tend to hug the curbs a little when i go to turn.

I just love your pictures. I have never been to MA but plan on moving there as soon as i feel i have enough money saved up. I have heard to COL is high there but for all the free stuff you get (beautiful scenery, history, seasonal changes, and so on) i think it is worth it. i live in AZ right now and all i get to see is desert and casinos. there are only two seasons here: hot and windy. Your pictures make me want to get a second job just so i can save money even faster. by the way where did you see the whales at?

Default MA is beautiful!

I am in the same situation as you, txbaker27. I live outside of Houston, but my husband and I went to MA in October of last year. WOW!!!!!
I am in love with MA! We spent a day in Boston, a day on the cape, (P-town) and spent a day just driving (from CT to MA.) If we could move there tomorrow, I would be the happiest person in the world!
Alas, my husband is a right-a-way agent in the oil and pipeline field (although he also has a law degree) and Houston is the hot spot for that right now.
I also look at real estate on a weekly basis, just to satisfy my own dreams.
I hope you get to live there someday soon. Hopefully, I will be right behind you!

Yeah I really need to compare the col and do the math to see what exactly we would need to make it a reality. Oh you should definitely take a trip up there and visit. I give you my word that you will fall in love with it My husband asked where are we going for our next trip and I told him back to MA!!! See we have the 2 seasons here also!!! It really puts a damper on the holidays when you can still swim while putting the turkey on the table or opening X-mas presents
