Was it The Magic Pan Creperie? It was open in the 70's and closed in the early 90's. My DH and I had one of our first dates there.

There was another French cafe in Newburyport Street - I believe it was Julian's? -- back in the 80s.

Cafe Florian? It was located where the Thinking Cup now is between Berkeley and Clarendon.

This long defunct French cuisine restaurant was another of the several fine dining experiences to be had in the late 1970s-80s. Probably one of the best romantic date spots ever in town.


I may have said it before, but Beardsley's on Main St in Northampton. Best service, best little romantic restaurant, best food. It may have catered to the "Smithies" but it was for all of us when we could afford a rather expensive special meal in the French cuisine.
