Hi All,

We are beginning our search for our first home. We have a young child (not yet in school) and are hoping to find an area that is commutable to both Lexington and Dorchester with decent school districts. We are trying to find an area that's not *too* expensive. Some areas that have been recommended to us are Wilmington, Burlington and Reading.

Any thoughts on these areas (in particular the schools and in the case of Wilmington the environmental issues that we've read about in the news)? Any other recommendations?

Thanks for any help you may be able to provide...

Arlington, right next to Lexington. Preferably in the Brackett Elementary School neighborhood in Arlington Heights: Brackett has been the top-performing elementary school in MA for the past three years. Easy commute to Lexington, longer commute to Dorchester. Great town, good feel, enivronmentally aware, nice green spaces, centrally located (we live 3 blocks from Rt. 2, my husband commutes into downtown Boston and I commute to Wellesley--25-minutes each way for both of us).
