Hi,
We're considering a move to Sharon, and I am wondering what the commute is like from Sharon into the city. Specifically, how reliable is the commuter rail, and how likely am I to be stranded/late/etc.?
Thanks!

It's pretty reliable and very convenient, especially from Sharon. The Providence line has a stop at Back Bay station. I do it for work a few times a month and I've never had a problem. The only problem I can foresee for you is standing room only on some peak hour trains in the morning by the time it gets to Sharon.

Thanks, ProvGuy. Which are the peak hour trains? 7-9AM? Thanks.

Does anyone out there know if I'll have problem finding parking at the Sharon station if I get on the 8AM train?

If you live in Sharon, you can apply with the town hall for a resident parking pass. That pretty much guarantees you a parking spot, even during peak hours.

I think the busiest train is around 7:30am, that's the one I usually have to take and its always standing room only past Mansfield.
