Isn't Ashland in the top 50 list for schools? Pretty sure I saw them in boston magazines 2014 listing. It is also cheap. Why would anyone not want to live in Ashland these days?

Well I dont know what say then. lol. people want to be where the best schools are then seem worried their kids wont like the town. Agh.
I met a ~25 year old the other day who lives in Boston, but grew up in Sudbury. She said she hated it because there's nothing to do in town and was wondering why I moved there. I said for the schools, but she still couldn't wrap her head around how anyone could willingly move to a town so far away from Boston. Obviously she's still too young/immature to realize that growing up there probably helped her get to where she is now with a good career in finance. She'll get it in 10-15 years once she has her own kids.

Eh. Plenty of people grow up in "the city" and go on to be successful.

I'm sure people like living in Ashland and other towns that don't receive much attention on this forum. Certain towns are not touted much when there is not a regular resident C-D poster from a particular town.
Yepp...look into the Nyanza site. Years ago when we were looking for houses we was surprised to learn about this...never looked at Ashland again. Also, the downtown look rundown. Access to 495 will take you through single-lane Hopkinton downtown. Drive to Route 9 is your only escape
Look next door in Holliston or Hopkinton instead....very quaint NE towns. Excellent schools too. Or Southborough, if you want a train station. No doubt we are talking big $$$ for a house in any of these towns but if Ashland is inexpensive it is for a reason.

A lot of kids think the towns they are from are boring. My 15 year old cousin in Cohassett feels the same way, has no idea how badly many people would love to live there.
