Look next door in Holliston or Hopkinton instead....very quaint NE towns. Excellent schools too. Or Southborough, if you want a train station. No doubt we are talking big $$$ for a house in any of these towns but if Ashland is inexpensive it is for a reason.
Many other towns, even desirable ones, have superfund sites but all I hear about are Ashland and Woburn alot. Is it because the scope and impact of these incidents are far much worse than the others?

It's because the cancer study on the Ashland nyanza site showed a significantly increased rate of cancer for people who swam in the contaminated water during their childhood. That scared off a lot of people, myself included. I don't care if they say it's been cleaned up. It wouldn't be the first time the government lied to us

I've been to Ashland, and I am glad I bought in Hopkinton. A little bit more upscale. One thing I've noticed here is that there is a lot of traffic passing through Rt 135. I would bet that 80% of the traffic in Hopkinton is just people cutting through to get somewhere else?
