Hello, we may be relocating to the Worcester area this summer (jobs in Worcester.) I have gleaned from talking to people and other threads that nearby towns with better schools include Shrewsbury, Holden, and Grafton(?)

I would love to get some feedback on what folks think are good public (and private) elementary schools in Worcester and the other towns mentioned above. I have a son who will be in second grade next fall.

Thanks!!

My understanding is that the best public school right in Worcester would be Flagg St School. There are some lovely neighborhoods walking distance to that school.

You're right though, Shrewsbury & Holden (and perhaps Grafton) would definately be worth a look as well. They're very nice towns.

I've heard the same comments about Flagg Street school, although when I lived in Worcester my oldest went to on of the Catholic schools (and then we moved to the Brookfields).

Flagg is the best in Worester, but doesn't come close to any elementary in either Shrewsbury or Holden . A lot of my friends had to move out of Worcester just for that reason. What makes things worse, is that we have even worse middle and high schools. Some people manage doing elementary in worcester, and then for middle and high schools they go private.
