Wow! I just saw this message. We are in our 8th year here. It's still a quaint little town; kind of like Cheers where "everybody knows your name." Small towns aren't for everyone, but if you like them, I think you'd be happy here.

Seekonk or North Attleboro might be a good compromise to stay in MA, but not familiar with the schools.

I'm laughing as I read this post about Hopedale being on the depressed side since the poverty rate is a fraction of the other towns mentioned. Hopedale is pretty much built out because it's only about five square miles. So, there might not be as shiny and new as Sutton. The only real negative about Hopedale is the high tax rate.

For the OP's situation and budget I would actually go with Sutton, though. I'm curious if the OP is considering Hopedale, why not throw Uxbridge, Douglas and Mendon into the mix? All are great growing towns in the 146 corridor.

I'm laughing too; how is Hopedale depressed? Our population is now over 6,000 which is indeed small compared to some towns, but poverty is not a common issue here and taxes are high. I agree with you thenewtexan. In my opinion, Milford would be considered more poverty stricken by comparison to Hopedale and it has more crime for sure.

Look at Grafton as well. Some parts have great access to 146 which takes you straight into RI. Schools are very good as well.

Whoa, you're right. This thread is seven years old. If this thread were a person, it would be in second grade.
