Hi All,

Does anyone know what the lot setback requirements are for a single family dwelling in West Roxbury.. I've heard from 5 feet to 10 feet for sides and 20 feet for front and rear.

I am sorry but I don't have an answer.

If I can give some advice...don't you hate when people say "Do you mind if I give you a little advice"...you know they are going to give it even it you said no...ha ha

I would go (or call)to the town hall yourself to find out. Don't have a real estate agent, or contractor, etc do it for you...Def. do not take someones word on it. When it comes to proerty lines, setbacks, etc... you really want to hear it yourself. Too many costly mistakes are made by assuming something to be true or listening to anothers take on these types of property concerns

I work in real estate and we get these questions all the time. My company adamantly stresses that we are not allowed to answer these questions. My answers are "I can get you a plot plan" if that covers their question...also "You(or we) can can go to the town hall/registry of deeds to get the right answers"

The only suggestions I could come up with would be to call the city zoning division at 617 635 5300.
If they aren't any help, call the office of the city councilor for West Roxbury, John Tobin: 617 635-4220.
