Hi there, we are looking for a nice outdoor venue to hold an outdoor wedding ceremony, and we are on a very tight budget, any tips? We are ok with Southern NH if necessary

Has anyone been married in a state park in Mass? Which one? Were you allowed to set up chairs?

Any suggestions for a venue that will allow a small wedding reception? Most places we have encountered have a "guest minimum" and we are only having about 50 guests.

What we really need is pretty & affordable, it does not need to be fancy.

Hi,
I replied in the other wedding thread you posted in. I'll just copy and paste my reply from that.

Hello,
To the OP and dakcp2001...The park in Plymouth is called Brewster Gardens. Its right on the waterfront(Water Street) Its a beautiful setting. The town has actually just recently finished doing some work in the park. They added a nice arbor type entrance as well. There is a a small brook(Town Brook) that runs through the area.

I know in past you could set up chairs. Things may have changed. I can find out tomorrow if you like. I live and work in Plymouth.

I know someone who got married at Borderland State Park in Easton, MA. I do not know details but heard it was reasonable and a great setting.

Hello,
Here's what I found out.
Brewster Gardens hiolds 110 wedding ceremonies a year. A permit is needed with as much advanced notice as possible. Unfortunately chairs can not be set up(no tents, or tables either). Exceptions will be made for an elderly person or a someone with physical impairments.

Here is the number to reach the parks department in Plymouth. 508-830-4907 extension 6.

As Cathy mentioned...having a reception at East Bay Grille under their tent is great. Its a nice restaurant right on the ocean. The tent area is grass with lots of parking and ocean views. Its right down the street from Brewster gardens...3 minutes tops. East Bay 508-746-9751

Check out Camp Denison in Georgetown Ma. It is located on Baldpate Pond, used to be a summer camp until the town took it over a few years ago. Very rustic, but it does have a kitchen facility and it is in a beautiful setting.

Camp Denison is 36 acres of recreational and environmental land located in Georgetown, Massachusetts (http://www.campdenison.com/index.html - broken link)
