Help? I am moving to Cape Cod from MN in October and need some help in the housing area. I think renting is the best option for me until I become acquainted with the area. I will be working in Hyannis and would like the shortest commute as possible as I have a dog that will need to be let out during lunchtime. I lived in the Worcester/Shrewsbury area for 3 years and have been to the Cape a few times, just not enough to know where to live. I will be a single woman living alone so safety is always a concern. And I like quiet...shared walls with screaming children don't work for me since I am a light sleeper. Any ideas? Thanks!

Check the Cape Cod Times on line as well as Craigslist for rentals. Close to Hyannis would be Barnstable, W. Yarmouth, Hyannis proper, and Centerville. How close do you want to be?

Thanks for the info. I have been checking those sites. I found a place I like in West Dennis but am concerned about travel time. I see that I have to cross a river. Am wondering if I will have time to run home and back when summer traffic is in full affect. I just need to live close enough to be able to run home to check on my dog if I need to. Thanks again!

Crossing 'a river' made me laugh out loud. lol The bridge is about 20' long. lolololol

Crossing that is the least of your worries in the summer. Which part of Hyannis will you be working in?

Are you bringing a lot of things with you when you move? You would do well to come here and spend a week or so finding yourself a place before you move permanently. Rents are down, much like home prices, so it is a good time to buy.

Send me a DM if you'd like and I'll help you more specifically.

Sandwich is a great town if you want more of a suburban feel and want to be closer to the "mainland"
