Any towns that are friendly to marijuana smokers? Now that the state has decriminalized marijuana I want to move to mass. Framingham, Hopkinton?

If you want to move to Mass. just to smoke weed, you may as well just stay home. It's not really that much different here than in other places. If you get caught, you still get punished. It's just that the lowest level infractions are nothing more than the equivalent of speeding tickets.

Now if you want to move to Mass. because there's something else about the place you like - say if you like the history or scenery or New England culture, or a particular city like Boston or Worcester or New Bedford - them come on down.

You don't understand. I live in Pennsylvania. The state has the strictest laws in the nation. Caught with any weed and go to jail for six months. Get caught again and go to jail for a year and lose your drivers license.

So of all the states in the union you think Massachusetts is the answer? I think the sticky icky has affected your brain. Sure, MA is more lenient than other places, but it is not legalized there by any stretch of the word.

Please go to the MPP Homepage and learn about which states actually do have the "highest" tolerance for marijuana, and while you're at it join and donate so sick people can legitimately use it to feel better.

How is that? I pointed you to a reputable resource that accurately reports every state's marijuana laws. I come from Oregon, and let me tell you, Massachusetts is definitely *not* some sort of pot smoker paradise.

For the record, I dont care if you smoke or not, and think it should be legalized. I just figured you'd probably want actual facts before you decided to move somewhere for a specific reason.

Well, if you're serious about this:

I remember reading once before that Boston (due to all the college kids) was the second highest percentage of pot smokers in the country, only behind Boulder CO.

College towns, especially very liberal ones, I can only assume would be more tolerant. However, I don't know too much about any of the particular locales. Best guesses: Amherst, Northampton, maybe North Adams. Could always try Worcester too.
