You can take the train from Ashland or Framingham into Boston. You can go to www.mbta.com to see the train schedule. Just click on the Framingham/Worcester line.

Reason: Realtor link - can't post
It says that Holliston is 2 miles from Ashland and 7 miles from Framingham. The Framingham station is also located in a spot where there is terrible traffic at all times of the day. So you may be better off going to the Ashland station. Depending where you would be in Holliston, I'm guessing a 15 min. drive? It's only local roads too, btw. So if you are stuck behind an old man.... the commute into Boston by train takes about 45 min to South Station. It can also run longer depending on weather conditions.
Holliston's a nice quiet town with a quaint historic center and nice neighborhoods that are somewhat more reasonably priced than some neighboring towns. It's one of only two towns in the state that offers a French immersion program to elementary school children. My sister lives near downtown and really likes that she can walk with the kids to the children's park, library, to get a bite to eat, go to the general store, etc. They've been very pleased with the elementary school so far. Felicitev is right that getting to the train could be an issue. It really depends where in town you are. Some parts are easily accessible and others would really be too far afield to make sense for taking the train simply because of the traffic getting there.
Does anybody know if there's a way to post photos here without linking to another site? I wanted to share some pictures of Holliston but can't seem to just upload them here.
Hi GypsySoul, My wife uploaded some scenes of downtown Holliston to Flickr: Flickr: elizaj1's Photostream (http://www.flickr.com/photos/21590926@N07/ - broken link)
