I'm a 27 year old girl looking to relocate. I've been substitute teaching for 5 years now and would like to land a full-time Physical Education job somewhere. I'm looking for opinions on a nice city to live in and possibly any places that are looking for teachers.

The teaching profession is very closed off in the whole Northeast except for maybe special ed. and specialized languages.

What about for Science and Math teachers? Would it be hard to get a job?

I'd check schoolspring.com or something like that and see what is out there.

But generally, most towns here are in pretty rough shape financially, and are mostly cutting jobs rather than adding.

Last year (for this school term) my friend moved to MA (near Boston) and got a job in Special Ed. She is exceptional at what she does and I am happy for her.
She was my son's teacher for a year and he did well.

In some places, maybe you can get a special ed. job. (this is also nationwide).

What you have to realize is there is at least a 'generation' of teachers who never worked or cannot be hired. I've been waiting for teaching to 'open up' since I got my MS in 1991!

YES. Still. Even that doesn't matter anymore.
