I had some friends living there and school was considered fine. However Arlington is having some money issues right now (who doesn't?) and there is a talk of merging Bishop and Hardy to cut costs.

I am not sure if that will fly with residents, but it is worth checking out. Apparently, Arlington has issues with school budget, and some teachers were let go. How is Hardy doing in all of that I am not sure, but it is not bad school district overall. In Arlington Brackett Elementary is deemd to be "best", but I do not think that any others are bad at all.To find out more on buget check their online city newspaper on wicked local. Also greatschools.net. Hope it helps.

I'm a JQA Brackett alumni myself and I think Hardy's great. I don't know about the current financial issues, which are affecting a lot of towns, but a friend sent her young son to Hardy a few years ago (he finished there in 2008 and they moved out of the area since) and loved it.

Are you sure they don't mean Thompson? Bishop School is on the other side of town by the Mystic Lakes. Thompson is in East Arlington on the other side of Mass Av. from Hardy.

Maybe I mixed them up, for some reason I think I read Bishop, but I do agree with you that geographically Thomson makes lot more sense
