My boyfriend and I are relocating to Worcester for a new job. We are looking for a cheap but safe place to live, hopefully near mass transit (I understand we would be on the last stop of the subway) and some utilities included would be great. We are going to look in about ten days from now. Does anyone know of an apartment complex we should put on our list of places to check out? Thanks in advance.

There's no subway in Worcester. Check out the bus routes when deciding on an apartment. There's also train service to Boston.

Worcester is home to the "Three Decker". It's like an apartment house. An apartment on each floor of the house. There are some apartment complexes, but mainly the rentals are in these three decker houses. I feel it's a bit nicer than an apartment if you find the right one.

There are some nice looking apartments at the corner of Park Ave./Institute Rd. but I've only seen them from the street. It's a decent area, but close to WPI so may be inhabited by a bunch of college students.

Salisbury Street, Park Ave., June Street area are nice areas. The west side, Tatnuck, etc. Worcester is pretty affordable. Check out houses for rent also.
