Hi,
I'm moving from Chelmsford, MA to Billerica, MA but I want to keep my kid in the Chelmsford school district. Is this possible?

Most likely not. Some towns allow it under certain circumstances for instance to finish the school year after a move. But most towns will not let you do it. Some towns don't even allow you to stay in the same school if the street changes and you fall in a different zone.
That is the whole argument about true school choice and how it affects your town, taxes, transportation etc.

Actually, the Chelmsford School Committee just voted to use a school choice opt in pilot for Chelmsford High School. It is available to those students entering grades 9 and 10--I believe that the pilot is for a very limited number of students. In addition, you would be responsible for your child's transportation.
