Does anyone know of a pigeon (not pidgin) association on Maui. I found a tagged pigeon today - friendly, but lost. I posted it on Craigslist Lost & Found. Couldn't get to the tag, but will try if anyone knows of a database with tag/owner info. Anyone?
Thanks

There's someone who's been raising them for years on Pu'unene Ave, across from the phone co. building I believe. See them grouping above the house all the time. Probably makes for some nervous geckos..

Aloha and okolemaluna

Thanks all. Went back to the same place and he is still hanging out, being fed birdseed by a business tenant who had the seed because she plans weddings and had it for the doves they use for ceremonies. Emailed a handful of clubs and found nothing since I can't get close enough to read the band number. Called my vet and found a pigeon owner nearby who said he will stop by to check on it. Said most pigeons lost on Maui that are banded, are from the Big Island and in the middle of a race to O‘ahu or Kauai. They might stop here and if they're young they aren't able to re-orient themselves and continue on. She says even if we get the band number the owners won't come all the way over here to get them. I feel sorry for this little guy, if that's the truth, since he looks like he's used to being fed and probably can't fend for himself - just abandoned here. Will keep you posted on my pigeon saga...
