Our family is visiting Maui in two days for a week. This is a much needed vacation after dealing with very serious illnesses that have been emotionally draining on all of us. We're staying in Wailea (Elua) for the first time after visiting other parts of Maui/Hawaii over the years (our neice just graduated from Univ. of Hawaii) and really want to have some good, local food on the south shore. Can anyone recommend a good local spot, maybe with a view. Everyone talks about Hali'imaile General Store, but it doesn't look like it has views? We love Mama's Fish House and Mixed Plate, but would like to stay near Wailea for one really nice evening. Any suggestions?

My neice wanted to swim with the dolphins and my brother in law wants to jet ski-any ideas?
We're really looking forward to the warm ocean breezes and the Aloha spirit of the Hawaiian people, they are healing for the soul...

try 5 Plams at Kewakapu beach, not local food but a great view and great food.
I don't think there is a "spot' where you can swim w/dolphins but it could happen anywhere. you are more likely to swim w/turtles at Makena. have fun

No views at Hali'imaile but the food is some of the best we've ever had in the islands! A little pricey but worth it. Try Da Kitchen in S. Kihei for some great local food as well. It kinda between from Kamaole 1 and 2. Stay away from Mixed Plate, imo. Seems like they've really went downhill the last several years. L&L's a better choice if in Lahaina, imo.
