We are renting a condo for a few days in Lahaina, and expect to arrive on Thanksgiving Day. Will anything be open? Normally we make a supermarket run on the day of arrival, but wondered if any of the markets will be open. Thanks!

Yeah, but on Thanksgiving Day? Somehow I am not assured.

How about listing a few markets that you KNOW will be open along the OP's travel path?

Safeway, Lahaina Cannery Mall Open all during that day closed for dinner and after. Don't believe me call.
And if every restaurant in Lahaina or West Maui is closed for Thanksgiving I will eat a straw hat.

In Lahaina you can at least go to the ABC stores if Safeway closes (which is normally a 24 hour store) - the main drag on Front St. will be open all night - it is a huge weekend for tourism.

To add, Safeway in Kahului same as I listed above. Whole foods in Kahului 7am -9pm every day of the year.

Many restaurants and hotels have thanksgiving specials, especially the condo restaurants, but you'd want to put a reservation in if you're planning on eating there. A lot of stores will be open Thanksgiving evening much to the dismay of many workers. The reason this year is because they are having black friday sales starting at 8pm at some stores like Sears or Walmart etc. Safeways are usually open every year until the evenings 5/7 pmish.

Some places in Lahaina that are usually open every year:
Plantation House 808-669-6299
Roy's Kahana 808-669-6999
Leilanis 808-661-4495
Dukes on the Beach 808-662-2900
Canoes 808-661-0937
Lahaina Grill 808-667-5117
Lulu's 808-661-0108
Hard Rock Cafe 808-667-7400

Places that are usually closed
Melting Pot
Star Noodle
Outback Steakhouse

I'm not sure which of these will be open this year as they may always change their schedules, but I posted the phone numbers if you want to find out or put a reservation in.

Oh and for the record Costco will be closed.
