Hi,

I will be hopefully moving from Maui to San Antonio,Texas in 2013. This is depending on the sale of my house on Maui. I plan on renting a PODS container for the move. Is there anyone that will be moving from Maui during this time that would like to share the container with me. I am willing to be flexible in order to keep the cost of my PODS container down.

Thank you

Hi Koale,

Got your message about a PODS container. My neighbor has 2 in front of his house. I called (877) 770-7637. The guy fiqured out my estimate from Maui to Texas over the phone. He also said there was a PODS office in Kahului. 197 Kalepa Pl. I have not checked the address out, yet.

Hope this helps you out.

Is there still a PODS office in Maui? Do they have a storage yard or do you have to have it moved to a local storage facility? What storage facilities in Kahului close to the harbor will store PODS on their property?

Yep, Google works on Maui too.

The way PODS works is that they bring the container to your address, using a specially designed dolly truck that picks the proprietary unit up and places it on the truck bed. The POD fits in a standard parking space, and has a rollup door you can lock. Once you've filled it, they pick it up again, and move it to their warehouse for storage, or ship it to your destination, whichever you've arranged for. And then at the other end of a shipment, they can warehouse the POD, or deliver it to your property with their special truck.

The need for the special truck and warehouse means that their service is limited to locations where they have the proper facilities, which is why they currently operate on Oahu and Maui, but not on the Big Island or Kaua'i.

That's good news to hear PODS is operational in Maui!! I re-entered a Kahului zip code and you're right, it did pull one up in Wailuku.
My previous attempt I put a Kihei zip code in....and it said not available...

I'm looking for a local phone number, it keeps giving me a 877-xxx-xxxx and the call attendant said I need a Hawaii specialist then routes me to a voice mail. Maybe because it's a holiday weekend......

Well, in case any else navigating thru a move to Maui using PODS, I found out their
local number on Oahu is 808 682-7637.

I found out that there is no PODS storage facility on Maui at this time, however they
do ship your POD to Maui..
You can then unload it at the dock, or have it delivered to your home, or have it delivered to a private storage facility of your choice where they will drop it off for a few days while you unload it into your storage unit, then they come pick up the POD.

Or you can load your POD at your house, they come pick it up and take it to a storage facility in San Diego where your POD remains intact, in storage, for how ever many months you want, till you're ready to have it delivered straight to your new home in Maui.

Personally I'm looking into storage facilities in Maui near the dock as I will be in a vacation rental for a few months before moving into my permanent house. I figured that way I have unlimited access to my stuff in Maui..

."A Place for my Stuff"..remember the old George Carlin Parody? lol

San Antonio? But why?

You know your property tax will be 10x what you're paying on Maui right?
