Aloha,

I found a beautiful pigeon walking on Pulehuiki Road on 09/20/2014. I was able to easily catch it. Took it home and gave it some water. It drank a little bit. Wrote down it's tag number. (AU 2014 VILL 3)

It wouldn't eat, or drink over the next couple of days and died. I buried it. It was safe, comfortable, and warm its last days. Sorry to pass this on, but thought the owner would like to know what happened to it.

I'm sure the owner would be glad to know that.

Mahalo,

Post it on Cragslist under Pets. That has the best chance of being seen by someone who knows the bird.

I had one show up in and literally in my house couple of years ago.Stayed a couple of days. Racing pigen You can google a place for tags on each island. However also found out if they can't find their way back they don't want back. You did the best for it. Aloha for doing what you did.
Mine left in couple of days (was a storm) hope it made it.....

That's an American Racing Pigeon Union band.
The bird was hatched in 2014, so it was a young pigeon.
It's owner belongs to the pidgeon club "VILL" and the 3 is the sequential number unique to each pigeon in the club. I'm guessing that was one of the first pigeons born in the club this year.

The information for the VILL club is on this page: American Racing Pigeon Union | Homing Pigeons | Sport Flyers

So, it was a lost pigeon from Kaneohe, Oahu.
