I looked it up, and USGS has a ranking of volcano relative hazards, with 4 categories.
Haleakalā is in same category as Mauna Kea. You know, the one with all the telescopes. Moderate
category, ranked number 85.
But, no doubt there’s some nefarious commie political
agenda involved in this ranking and it’s not to be trusted.

Well, it's some sort of volcanic 'feature' of some sort. It's called "Diamond Head Crater" after all. Punchbowl and Diamond Head are both obvious craters. I don't think either one is going to spew any more lava, though.

Diamond Head is volcanic tuff cone and part of what is known as the Honolulu Volcanics. Formed about 400,000-500,000 years ago, when the Koolau volcano had already stopped being active (2.6 million years ago), Diamond Head was part of a violent eruption that lasted a few hours.

The Honolulu Volcanics can still erupt but not likely in the near future (last was 30,000 - 75,000 years ago)
