Hi, Maui people-
We'd like to move to Maui. I'm a senior with some breathing problems, and concerned that there might be VOG there like on Big Island? Anyone know...can tell me? Thanks in advance.

The Vog is gone for now since the volcano is not active.

Sugarcane burning is gone for good.

Yes, but what is growing in it's place is burning right now.

Other than the every few months or so ex-sugar cane, grass fire, the air is perfect.. Until the volcano breaks from it's break.

Hope everyone stays safe. Don't want any extra-crispy mongoose or mongooses or mongeese or whatever.

Why not? The only good mongoose is a dead mongoose.

VOG is worse on the south side of the island. Parts of the north shore are largely protected from it due to Haleakala, so if you are worried about VOG, move to Haiku or Makawao.

Of course if Haleakala decides to erupt (it is due based on historical timeframes of eruptions) who knows what it will be like.
