If I'm not mistaken, Costco is the closest gas station to the rental car return at the airport. I used to see cars with barcodes on the windows there regularly before the shutdown.

Hawaii Island Costco is pretty much wait free, too. There's not only less driving going on because of less tourists, but there's less driving being done by the folks that are here. I'm only filling up the car about every other month anymore.

Safeway Kahului is pretty busy now considering they are cheaper than Costco when you use their points.

Can you explain Safeway point system with gasoline. I remember i asked one employee who had no idea

When you shop @ Safeway you earn points based on what you buy. You can redeem those points at the pump at the Safeway Kahului gas stand. You just have to remember your safeway number and punch it in prior to filling up I believe.
