I lived in Maui for 12 years and now want to return and I used Matson at the time and I don't like POD movers

Any suggestions on how to ship my stuff from Utah in a built box here and have it shipped by someone that can pick it up?

And wondering about the box size and shape requirements?
Thanks

Call the freight forwarders and ask them, I'd guess. Don't most folks use a container?

Not sure what you are asking, do you not want to use a container? If you are building your own box, it will have to fit inside a container or as cargo inside a transport ship.

If you are not using or planning to use a metal ocean going container, size and shape of the box does not matter, it will be inside cargo just like a car, jet engine, boat, pallet of vending machines, massive office air conditioner unit, etc. Containers are the cheapest by volume because they are stacked and shipped in a uniformed manner. Let's say a 40 foot ocean container cost $1,000 to ship. A 40 foot wooden box may cost $4,000.
