I've been spending a lot of time on Maui for reasons that will be apparent soon.

It's clearly tradewind weather. Yet I can barely make out Lanai and Molokai. Are you all here Maui seeing more vog despite trades?

Since I can't understand Jungjohann this time, I'll make my own joke:

I can barely make out Molokai and Lanai from here either. MUST be da vog.

Two other observations:

- Tradwinds and choppy seas right now create salt-spray haze.
- Mokulele is the only airline flying into Kapalua (JHM) for now, but I expect that to change soon. That'll solve the issue of the pesky drive to OGG for all those tourists (and Hawaiian Airlines executives).

Fun fact: OGG is named in honor of Kaua'i born aviator Bertram Hogg, an early inter-island pilot (I think I read it at a display somewhere at the airport, also here: http://www.nileguide.com/destination...mauis-airport/)
