I don't know which is richer, righties demanding the government tell private businesses whom they should allow on their platforms or lefties defending the right of corporations to do whatever they wish without government interference.
YouTube has and should have the right to exclude whomever it wishes from its platform but they do themselves harm and they do the public good harm through these actions. They certainly do not uphold the ideals of free speech. Neither do these forums, for that matter, which would be immeasurably better without the schoolmarms policing them. Adults should be able to deal with speech they don't like on their own. The best Internet forums have no moderators. (Recognizing that one of the schoolmarms will probably strike this part.)
Until the moment it came closer to our backyard. It reminds me a bit of the last lines of Martin Niemöller's poem: "When they came for me, there was no one left to speak out."
YouTube announced plans on Wednesday to remove thousands of videos and channels that advocate for neo-Nazism, white supremacy and other bigoted ideologies in an attempt to clean up extremism and hate speech on the service. What about freedom of speech? Because YouTube is a private corporation, these videos are not protected under the First Amendment, so they can pull any videos they want. I support the right for people to be racists and bigots if they so insist upon it. But if a private entity pulls material like this, is it considered censorship?

You answered your own question.
You do not have "freedom of speech" on a private web site.

Private companies can censor all they want. Even this forum which is privately owned can remove your posts if they so choose and ban you to boot.
So, if a bakery..a private company, decides to "censor all they want" a certain segment of the population, they can do so because the bakery is "privately owned"?

You do not have First Amendment protections on a private platform.
By the same token, selectively prohibiting speech based upon opinions you don't like does not uphold the ideals of free speech.
If you ran YouTube, would you ban Steven Crowder? Would you ban Louis Farrakhan?
