Clayton reminds me of a more urban East Memphis. It has similar charming neighborhoods and huge beautiful houses like East Memphis, but it also has an urban downtown & skyline. I hope that one day East Memphis can develop into something like Clayton. I love both places
Yeah, I'm familiar with Clayton (stayed there a few times), but it's more relative to Midtown Memphis. East Memphis (Poplar/I-240) is much farther away from Downtown. Love those pics, love St. Louis.

Remember that Clayton is a suburb, and not part of the city. The distance from Downtown Clayton to Downtown St. Louis is about the distance from White Station to 240 when you're entering Downtown Memphis. Just check out Google Maps. Poplar/240 is a bit further, but still a comparable distance. Our Midtown is positioned similarly to St. Louis' Midtown, while our University of Memphis area is positioned similarly to their Central West End. They have minor skylines too:

Yeah, suppose that sounds about right. I was going to say Highland/UofM before Midtown. Also you have to remember municipal St. Louis is much smaller than municipal Memphis. So, when you say "suburb" it could confuse someone not familiar with the area because Clayton is definitely urban. Those pics are killing me, it's been too long St. Louie
