Agreed, that area is not near CBU. You may have some areas confused. CBU is basically in midtown, east of the Cooper Young area. Looking at that map as posted above is a good start to get familiar with the areas.

Pearlbob & Tigertate - Thank you. The area we are looking at is actually called out as "Lenox". Any input on that area? I plugged in the address on walkscore.com and it comes back with a very encouraging 82, so from I'm very curious about a description from a local's perspective.

The Lenox area really depends on the exact address. Do you know the closest intersection? Mostly it's a good area, although there are a few streets that I'd stay away from. Mainly because there is a giant train track going right thru there

It is on Cowden and S. Cox St... looks like it is near the tracks but not too close. Other than the tracks, do you know of any concerns?

Not too close? It looks like it's literally the next house down from the tracks! Expect your house to be shaking every 30 min or so.. (seriously)

Pearlbob & Tigertate (and any others who know the area)...

One more question. I have found a place (a home for rent, not apt) across the street from CBU, on Edwina... It is not actually colored on the map, but I assume it is a safe, nice area...
But I know what happens when people assume... any input?

Eh, that area isn't the best. (I assume you mean Edwin?) It's a circular street and the houses are okay, however that area directly there isn't the best. It's very...commercial? Other than that one circle street, there are no homes anywhere near. You'd have to see it to understand. I would not live there. You're right across from the football stadium, the fairgrounds (which only houses cheap flea markets every weekend), next to a Dollar Store, and the traintracks with some cheap apts across the street.
