"Some cities actually do have BOTH UPSCALE restaurants AND country clubs"

What country club are you a member of? Some here would want to know before applying..

Were you ever in the Vapors? There were no holes in the WALLS!

Second call on this - when was the last time you were in the Vapors??

Btw, I haven't forgotten your claimed expertise of having lived in New Orleans. Were you in NOLA on 9/11? I was. Were you in NOLA when the runaway ship hit the Riverwalk? I was. Were you in NOLA the weekend K hit? I was. Did you personally help in the relief efforts? I did.

When the Republic first opened, it was marketed as an Upscale Club to rival NYC and Miami, I laughed at their marketing campaign. I've been once; it was decent, but I've heard it has gone down a lot in the past couple of months and is on the brink of going under.

Senses was/is supposed to be an upscale club. I haven't been there but a couple of times - and that was shortly after they opened, so I don't know what it's like now. Places where 60+ year old folks who still like to party don't feel like chaperones are few and far between...

i agree, senses used to be the place to go. Trust me, don't go there now. You will regret it. You may want to try stella marris in cordova. It's a restaurant during the daytime and a nightclub in the evening around 10pm. You may find obnoxious mid 20 year old kids there.

I don't mind being around younger people - we went to Flashback's last Saturday night - we just don't want to be the only couple in the club eligible to be AARP members

There's this place in Tucson called Championship Dining that I need to get pictures of. It's an upscale restaurant that is popular among students and young professionals, as well as cougars. After hours it gets bar-sy not unlike the Saucer, except with nicer dress. And on certain nights they bring in a DJ. Actually Tucson has a couple places like that. It sounds like Stella Marris is similar? Memphis I think could certainly use a couple of those sorts of places, maybe in East Memphis, G'town, the burbs.

There are not two truly UPSCALE restaurants/bars even in the most expensive suburbs of Memphis,TN (Germantown and Collierville) imagine that as well.

You can't make this stuff up...the city is lacking, so are th suburbs in this regard, almost like no other city I've lived in.

Some think Houston's Restaurant is upscale....lol.....or Amerigo's ...LOL
Hey! You forgot Hueys! Memphis is a big ole BBQ Burger Country Music Town on the good ole boy side, and then you have places like the Plush Club. I guess you could get stuck with an upscale shiv?
