This is our first experiance with this. We were not here at the beginning of last year. We were told we'd be notified this past Friday what day this week our KK student would be starting school. We were not notified so I have no idea what to do. Our older child will be in 3rd at the same school. so we had planned on just getting everyone ready and going by the office. I just hate to get his hopes up and drag all his supplies to school only to be turned away...

Sounds like the Gates Foundation and Race to the Top programs are causing some problems. This is the first year they are implementing these programs into the Memphis school system. It's my understanding they fired a bunch of the old admin staffs from some schools and brought in new people before the school year. This might be what you're dealing with.
