We are relocating, and have been to Memphis on one house-hunting trip. We were very impressed with Central Gardens (we want to stay near the city), and are actively seeking a home in that neighborhood.

A few questions:
1.) Anyone know someone that is interested in selling?

2.) We have two small kids who will need to attend a "Mommy's Morning Out" program a few days a week. I have heard Grace-St.Luke's has a good program. What's the likelihood of getting accepted there by March 1st? Are there other options?

3.) Is there a good listserve for Memphis moms? I would like to connect with other women for playdates, things to do in the city, advice, etc.

Thank you so much!

Central Gardens is very pretty, but has to much petty crime. Look at Chickasaw Gardens instead

Central Gardens is great. Crye-leike is a major realty company here and offers a great free search engine for looking at houses in the area, if you haven't found it already. Central Gardens is in zip 38104 (as is most of midtown).

Central Gardens is the best neighborhood in Memphis, in my opinion. Every time I drive through there I always see people out and about walking their dogs, jogging, etc. The houses are absolutely gorgeous (check out South Belvedere and Peabody Ave for some real beauties), and you'll be within about 15 minutes of everything in Memphis. The only downside of CG is that it's very, very close to some really sketchy areas to the south and west, but from what I gather that doesn't seem to be too much of an issue. I'm not sure about any kinds of Mother's Day Out programs, but the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception is also in the neighborhood and I'm sure they have something in addition to Grace-St. Luke's.

Central Gardens is beautiful. In addition to crye-leike, you could also use trulia.com to search by zip code for houses on the market in the area.
