I'm from New Orleans and in the army bout to get out soon. Where I grew up it was **** and my school was terrible. I have got a job with Fedex in West Memphis and I want to live in the regular Memphis but want my kid to go to a better school than I did where would you think I should move thats cheap?

Not sure that I have the answer, but if you share what grade your kid will be in, it may help others respond with suggestions

What do you consider "cheap"? Are you talking owning or renting a home?

yeah either rent a home or get an apartment but I want it to be as close as possible to Arkansas.

Look at apartments on the island then. It's right at the I-40 bridge over to AR, close to downtown Memphis. However, the elementary school would be the Downtown Elementary, and I'm not sure if that's a good school or not. It is brand new, however, so at least the facility should be very nice compared to most schools.
