Heading back overseas, I have nothing but positive things to say about Memphis, where I worked and Collierville where I lived.

Tips for newcomers with kids,

Get memberships at the Botanic Garden(world class), Zoo (world class), and the museums which are pretty good. Go to the Redbirds games, sit in the club level if you are worried about the heat.

Outdoors, there is an awesome path on the north side of the wolf river on Collierville-Arlington road that I did not find until my last few months, great for biking-hiking, 5 miles I believe.

Shelby Farms is a treasure, with the new playground, of course the parks in Cville are excellent.

Eat at Lennys, Hueys, Corkys and all the other local chains,

Visit the rock and soul museum and Gibson guitar factory.

Appreciate the fact that you are in a unique city that has a feel of it's own, with friendly well mannered people you wont find everywhere.

Memphis has a lot to be proud of, hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.

Too bad you're leaving instead of one of the people who seem to hate Memphis so much!

rinojg.

as frost declared in his prose, "...and that has made all the difference..." consequently, as in most all our lives, if we hadn't traveled the road least traveled, we probably would not have learned some of the wonderful lessons learned in the big "M", even if they were not all positive.

i wish you the very best, regardless of where you may go, and i hope you have the fond memories of the next destination, as you seem to have had of memphis. nothing but the best of luck and wonderful adventure, for you, in the future.

again, best wishes,
kingchef
