I'm part of a UK TV production team who are coming to Memphis as part of the show, focusing on all the great things this country has to offer. The show is aimed at 18-30 year olds and is hosted by three guys who are travelling around in a camper van. Can anyone give me tips and advice on funky, quirky things to do in Memphis, what to see etc. And are there any camp sites in the area where they can park their campervan?

That sounds very interesting.

I think you can park the camper at the AgriCenter, which is adjacent to Shelby Farms in Cordova. I'll see if I can find out more info about that.

As far as funky, quirky things -- we have plenty of those. I'll let some of our more funky, quirky regulars help you there.

Agreed, there should be some camping out at the AgriCenter.

Funky things....as in, secret things, or just regular Memphis things? I assume you'll be going to Graceland, Stax, Sun Studios, things of that nature.

The Backbeat Tour company does some different types of tours, including one of haunted downtown businesses. Not sure how those are, but I have heard their regular tours are great.

The Arcade restaurant downtown is the oldest resturant in town. it's in the south main arts district, and the last Friday of the month is the "trolley tour" which basically means all restaurants and businesses are open late, they have outdoor movies, free wine, etc.

Ernestine and Hazels is a bar downtown that used to be a brothel.

There's a big old cemetary in town where all famous Memphians are buried. They do tours, including a haunted tour a couple times a year.

Shelby Farms is the largest in-city park in the country (bigger than Central Park in NYC). They have buffalo that roam in the park, which I've always thought was funny to see in the middle of a huge city.
