Well people told me to stay away from

Hickory Hill
Organe Mound
Whitehaven
West Memphis
North Memphis
Frayser

Those are some places that probably is the reason the list is so stupid.

They are the worst drivers that I have ever seen. They also have little pride in their neighborhoods or in themselves. The service in restaurants is the worst that I have experienced from fast food to fine dining. Same goes for the employees in other businesses as well.

In case you are wondering, I have lived in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Indianapolis, Savannah GA, Greenville SC and Vero Beach Fl. I have also had extended stays in other cities while travelling for employers. So, I have seen and experienced life in quite a few places. More than most people including probably most of those on here.

The sad thing is that due to the climate and the proximity of Memphis to other areas of the country, it could be a desirable place to live. However, the average person here ruins the city.
Wow, lovely.
We are really going to miss you.
Sincerely,
The Average Person Here

...I never said that. Rochester is the opposite of Memphis. Both are bad.

I'm just surprised to see climate as a "pro" in a pros and cons of Memphis list since the climate is one of the worst features of living here, and anywhere in the south.

Yea it can be bad in both. My wife is from Chicago and hated the winters, loves the climate here, but the summers can get a little sweaty.

'tis better to have sweaty balls than frozen ones. That is why the climate can be looked at by some as a plus. Besides, I personally don't believe the summers here are all that bad.

One of the reasons I moved out of the NJ/NY area was to get away from the cold. I like this mild winter that we are having.

I can deal with the heat much better than I can deal with the cold. To me the climate is a pro for Memphis.
