Curious what opinions are on cable/internet options. I'll probably be on Mud Island if that matters. In Ohio I use Time Warner but it looks like it may not be available in TN. AT&T looked like it offered some good deals but when I put in a Mud Island address it said they don't offer service for that location(not sure if it was that specific addy or what. Anywho, who do you guys use? I'm going to be looking for basic internet(if it's not provided by the Mud Island apartments) and cable, preferably with some hd since I have a big plasma.

I'm on Mud Island. I assume you could probably get DSL through ATT. Talk to a human being at ATT if you want to go that route. It may have changed by now, but previously Google Maps didn't even recognize my address as existing.

Otherwise it's Comcast for cable internet.

If you want TV, you may be able to get satellite if your apartment faces the right direction and doesn't have obstructions. Mine doesn't, so I'm with Comcast.

Phone is through Vonage, because I like to call Canada and India to talk with relatives, but you can get phone through Comcast also if you want.

Direct TV and ATT DSL is what I have. I live about two miles from Mud Island.

Okay cool thanks guys. Glad to know that maybe the issue is that the system doesn't recognize the address. Comcast seemed more expensive than AT&T but I'm going to look into it a little further. I won't be getting a home phone most likely.

Just a word of caution: if you live in a gated complex on Mud Island, like I do, you may be required to have a local number. My complex (The Estates at River Point) requires a local number if you want to let in someone through the gate from your phone (ex: pizza delivery person, visitor, etc). Basically the visitor looks your name up on a box by the gate. The gate then dials your number, and you press 9 on the phone to open the gate.

Huh, that sounds weird but I guess I get it. If you don't mind I'm going to PM you, I have a few questions about the area.
