Memphis may be full of different ethnicities but it's still segregated.

Hey, I'm just checkn to see if you ever relocated to memphis? I am about to do the same. I grew up there but have been away for 20 years in another city. Don't let others frustrate you. If you are drawn there give it a try. at least you can make your own decision. Let me know how its going!

Default I agree- the only people that seem to like Memphis

are the ones who have lived here all their lives and have don't consider the possibilities of a better way of life. I've lived here for 5 years and I am now moving on. This town is very bland. The "history" of the blues is one claimed by many other cities namely st. louis, NYC, and New Orleans so that's not particularly unique. Only Elvis is truly a Memphis attraction and that can be seen in one day. The crime in Memphis is very bad. Germantown is very cookie-cutter inhabited by folks relocating with their companies for a few years only to move on. I agree with another poster who said Bartlett is not an ideal place to live. Collierville would be better. just my opinion but as an "outsider", Memphisian's are far too enamored of their town.
