They are changing the date to August this year anyway. Hold your kid back, you'll never regret it!!!!

my kid's b-day is mid Sep and he is big.

He is now in pre-k (4 yrs old class) and doing very well.

I want him to try the test and if passed, go to kindergarten with his older sister (in Kindergarten now)

My daughter started kindergarten at age 4 (born in August) and we never regretted it, she was ready. If your child isn't ready, by all means "hold your kid back." If your child is ready, don't hold back, you won't regret it.

Google it, most of the research points to holding back. Or better yet, ask any middle/high school guidance counselor. They way one told me is "I meet lots of parents who regret sending their 4 year old to kindergarten, but I have NEVER ONCE met a parent who regretting holding them back." There are plenty of senior 4 programs around you can send them to. Kindergarten is full day here-that's a big day for kids. Go to the nurses office the first week of school, all of the kids with tummy aches are the 4 year olds who can't handle the emotional stress it causes. I volunteered there the first week last year, I'm speaking from experience. It broke my heart to see these little ones not ready, and just wanting mom/dad.

If you still want to test, call the school you're districted for, they can tell you when they can test.
