We're arriving in Memphis at the end of May from Seattle. So exciting!! Can anyone help me avoid the initial culture shock of leaving the Pacific Northwest coffee culture? I'm kind of a coffee snob. I like a nice cup of black coffee, brewed from beans that were recently roasted and freshly ground. I also like to support small/local businesses. Google is telling me there are a few roasters in town, like Ugly Mug, Memphis Coffee Roasters, J Brooks Coffee, and McCarter Coffee Company. What's the cream of the coffee crop?

Thanks!

I wish CC's Coffee would open a shop here. Has anyone had that? I hear they are expanding.

Republic Coffee is cool from what I have heard. Also, Cafe Eclectic.

The Edge on Cooper, but it's kinda weird, even for a weirdo like me.

I can vouch for Republic. I really like their stuff. Not in the most convenient part of town, but I still go.

Otherland's coffee isn't the best, but it's by far my favorite coffee shop in the world. You could definitely hang out there for hours and people watch. One of the biggest things I miss about Memphis.
