Anyone had carpet replaced lately? We need to sell our house pronto, and we just need a basic carpet and pad to replace the old carpet in 3 bedrooms. Any places especially good for discount pricing? We are also members of Costco. Looking into them. TIA!

You can't go wrong with Costco! They stand behind what they sell. Seems like more and more people are installing hardwood though, especially with memphis being a high allergy/asthma area.

I'm in the process of pulling out all of the upstairs carpet in our master BR and hall (keeping it in the kids bedroom) and replacing it with hardwood.

Carpet is terrible for allergies.

We have hardwood and tile throughout the house except for the bedrooms. The good thing about carpet is that it is insulating and noise dampening. In a smaller ranch style home like ours, you would hear every little noise without some carpet.
