Don't want to cook this year, so I'd like to take my wife and sister somewhere Thanksgiving Day. Anyone know of any restaurants open? I've looked at the websites for a number of them (local and chains) but none of them indicate if they are or are not open...and the ones I've called are closed.

I did a search on Open Table, using various times (1pm, 3pm, 6pm) and most reservations that pop up are downtown. Ruth's Chris is the only restaurant that showed up outside of downtown. The menus at the Peabody restaurants sure do look good! You might try Open Table and see if there's anything that interests you.

How much are you looking to spend? If you're on a budget, Shoney's, Perkins, and Cracker Barrel will all do traditional Thanksgiving food for a reasonable price. If you have more to spend and are less interested in Turkey and cranberries, Grisanti's, inside the Embassy Suites on Shady Grove, is usually open on Thanksgiving.

I'm not concerned about the cost, but my sister has very simple taste....she likes home style cooking, and doesn't really enjoy fancy restaurants.

Cracker Barrel is out. She and Mom used to go there for Thanksgiving once Mom's dementia prevented her from cooking. We just buried Mom yesterday...

Perkins might work!
