My wife and I go to BSMF every year, and are wondering if those are houses along Riverside drive, or if the are rental properties that you can rent for the weekend? That would be so awsome to be able to rent one right there on the river.

Houses that people live in. Although I have heard of people going on vacation during those weekends and renting their homes out to make money.

Awsome, thank you. I had a guy tell me they were for rent, and to use an app on my phone (airbnb) to find them. I downloaded the app but never could find anything on them.

I wouldn't say a lot of people do that, but I've seen ads for downtown houses during May once in a while. If I had a house that I could rent out for thousands per weekend, I'd plan to stay with friends and rent my house out!

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. South Main/Bluffs really needs a boutique hotel. I think the best option for getting close to the Mississippi would be the River Inn, but then you'd have to walk a long way to get to the BSMF.

There are a lot of hotels near Beale. There's a Westin. There's a Hampton Inn. And so on. It's not that far from there to the festival. It's true that the tourists haven't yet discovered South Main. I feel like a lot of cities have the tourist entertainment area and the locals entertainment district. The super cool locals wouldn't be caught dead in the tourist trap neighborhood.

I doubt you'll find many of those homes being rented out for events; a number of them are owned by celebrities including Justin Timberlake, Cybill Shepard, Ginnifer Goodwin, Al Gore, Kathy Bates, and BB King. The rest are owned by some of the wealthiest folks in Memphis.
