I will be moving to the Memphis area to work short-term (January - March, 2017). The Vineyard Apartments in Germantown have been recommended to me. Does anyone know of the pros and cons of this location ?

It's a nice, safe location, near a lot of amenities (shopping, food, parks).

Traffic can be a pain, depending on where you'll need to drive to work. It's near major roads and close to the interstate, but just a lot of traffic in the area.

Pros:
-if the weather isn't too cold when you're here, you can enjoy walking or biking the trail that runs along Wolf River right across the street.
-you are pretty close to One & Only BBQ on Kirby Pkwy, which is very delicious!

Cons:
-As the above poster said, traffic. Wolf River Blvd and Germantown Pkwy can get really congested during rush hour. It can take 15-20 minutes to get through that intersection, heading east on Wolf River Blvd trying to turn left onto Germantown Pkwy, around 5:00pm.

Thank you for that helpful information, Salmonista.
I'm looking forward to living in that area, even if it is only for a few months.

FWIW, I expect the traffic at the intersection of Wolf River and Gtown to be alleviated once the construction at 40&240 is complete. That one interchange has created bottlenecks all over the east side of town. Looking forward to happier days!
