I'm a new grad nurse looking to relocate to Memphis. What are the best hospitals, the largest, etc?

The second largest not-for-profit hospital system in the United States is right here in Memphis - Methodist- Le Bonheur.

When DH had surgery a few years ago his doctor sent us quite a way from where we live, to Baptist in Collierville, because he said DH would receive far better nursing care there. I would guess that better nursing care might also mean better working conditions for the nurses, more nurses per patient perhaps?

I worked at 2 hospitals in Memphis. By far, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in the best. Their mission is "No child should die in the dawn of their life." That is the bottom line, not so in a for profit hospital. They treat their employees very well and want to retain them. I am not a nurse. I know it would be hard to work with children with cancer and other diseases, but the reward is great.

Good Luck

Any reason you are choosing Memphis? I think you can make a lot more $ in most other places in the country. My wife (ICU-RN) and I moved from Memphis to MN and her pay went up A LOT. Like 40%+!
